Why do we create our own truth?

Sometimes, when my dog is on a leash, he accidentally wraps himself around a tree, a pole, or a fire hydrant. I sit there and watch to see if he can figure out that all he needs to do is reverse his direction and go the other way. But all he does is sit there and look up at me with those sad puppy dog eyes. He knows he’s in trouble, but he can’t figure out how he got there, or how to get out. The reason – he doesn’t have the ability to ask the question why or to find the answers.
